Reconstructive surgery

Reconstructive surgery focuses on improving the function and appearance of abnormal body structures. It corrects either:

• Congenital deformities (birth defects)
• Acquired deformities caused by injury, trauma, infection, tumors, disease or aging

Some reconstructive procedures use techniques that are often thought of as “cosmetic.” For example, eyelid surgery to correct droopy eyelids not only improves your appearance; it can also prevent the excess skin from blocking your field of vision.
