Thigh & Arm LiftMost patients who have lost a significant amount of weight are also concerned about the appearance of their arms and thighs. As they lose weight, the excess skin may hang from their arms and thighs, causing them to be self-conscious. These patients can benefit from arm lifts (brachioplasties) and thigh lifts, which can remove the extra skin. During an arm lift, the incision is placed on the inside of the arm, where the scar is less likely to be seen. Thigh lift incisions are generally placed near the lower underwear line and inside part of the thigh. Some patients may also require an incision on the inner thigh extending down toward the knee. Recovery is generally mild, and patients are able to perform non-strenuous activities within a day or so after surgery. |
